A two-day WINCUBATE – a Women Centric Incubation Program aimed at capacity building of five incubators under Startup Nagaland, Department of Industries and Commerce was held on May 8 and 9.
The program is supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) and Dhriiti, organizations that aim to build and nurture a culture of entrepreneurship and set up sustaining enterprises, stated an update received here.
Addressing the programme, MLA & Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu highlighted the importance and role of incubators in shaping the future of entrepreneurs. She emphasized the need to build capacity among the incubators, especially those focused on women entrepreneurs, to create a Women Centric Incubation Model Foundation.
The two-day event was held on May 8 and 9 at YouthNet Incubation Centre Nagaland, and saw the participation of the incubators, including YouthNet Incubation Centre, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Educentre School of Business, Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre, and NAGABOTS.
It may be noted that the incubators are supported by Startup Nagaland under the startup Nagaland Policy 2019. The incubators provide startups with access to Mentoring, Infrastructure, Financing, Jakhalu’s address reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship in Nagaland and ensuring that the incubators are equipped with the necessary resources and support to help entrepreneurs succeed.
The WINCUBATE programme is expected to go a long way in nurturing and empowering women entrepreneurs in the state, the update stated.
