The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) for private colleges was officially launched at Tetso College by Shri P. Tukugha Sema, Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland. During his address, Shri Sema encouraged students to embrace their individuality, creativity, and passion. He urged them to think beyond conventional career paths and view entrepreneurship as a way to create employment opportunities, not just for themselves but for others, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth.
The event began with a welcome note from Dr. Hewasa L Khing, Principal of Tetso College, who urged students to seize this opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills. Lezo Putsure, Founder of Educentre School of Business, provided an overview of the EDC’s functions, emphasizing its role in nurturing student entrepreneurship.
This initiative, led by the Department of Industries & Commerce under the Start-up Nagaland Policy, originally focused on government colleges such as Sao Chang College, Tuensang, and Peren Government College, and is supported by Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).
The initiative is now expanding to private institutions, including Tetso College, C-Edge College, Eastern Christian College, and St. Joseph Autonomous College, Jakhama. The EDCs in Private Colleges is an initiative program under the Start-up Nagaland aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial mind-set among students by providing a comprehensive understanding of business and equipping them with the skills needed to transform their ideas into action. Registered students who perform well will gain access to incubation space, exposure trips, and mentorship from industry experts.
